RAID RESEARCH LLC TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Last Updated: August 17, 2026
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the use of the Raid Research LLC website and all products, custom products, gunsmithing services, firearm-related services, refinishing services, and other services offered by Raid Research LLC ("Raid Research LLC," "we," "us," or "our").
By accessing the Raid Research LLC website, submitting an order, purchasing a product or service, approving a work order, or sending any firearm, firearm component, optic, accessory, or other property to Raid Research LLC, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Raid Research LLC website or purchasing products or services from Raid Research LLC, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not submit an order or property to Raid Research LLC.
Raid Research LLC reserves the right to refuse service where permitted by law.
2. Lawful Use and Customer Responsibility
Customers may use the Raid Research LLC website, products, and services only for lawful purposes.
You agree not to use the website or Raid Research LLC services:
- For any unlawful purpose;
- To solicit, encourage, or participate in unlawful activity;
- In violation of applicable federal, state, or local laws or regulations;
- To infringe upon Raid Research LLC's or any third party's intellectual property rights;
- To interfere with or circumvent website or account security;
- To commit fraud or provide false or misleading information;
- To harass, threaten, abuse, intimidate, or unlawfully discriminate against Raid Research LLC personnel or others; or
- For any other unlawful or prohibited purpose.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that all firearms, firearm components, accessories, regulated items, and other property submitted to Raid Research LLC are lawfully owned, possessed, shipped, transferred, and received.
Raid Research LLC may refuse any product, service, transaction, transfer, or shipment that Raid Research LLC reasonably believes may violate applicable law, regulation, licensing requirements, or other legal requirements.
3. Returns, Refunds, and Custom Work Policy
This section establishes Raid Research LLC's return and refund policy.
Customers should review this section carefully before submitting an order.
3.1 Custom Products and Services Are Final Sale
Raid Research LLC performs specialized and customized work that may include, but is not limited to:
- Cerakote and other firearm finishes;
- Gunsmithing;
- Machining;
- Optic cuts;
- Slide or frame modification;
- Firearm or component modification;
- Laser engraving;
- Refinishing;
- Custom graphics and patterns;
- Custom firearm configurations; and
- Other individualized work.
Because this work is performed specifically for an individual customer's project, custom products and custom services are final sale once work has begun.
Once custom work has begun, the order is not eligible for cancellation, return, exchange, or refund merely because:
- The customer changes their mind;
- The customer wants a different color, design, pattern, configuration, or service;
- The customer later prefers a different product;
- The customer no longer wants the project;
- The customer's circumstances change;
- The project takes longer than an estimated turnaround time;
- The customer disagrees with previously approved project specifications; or
- The customer attempts to modify the project after work has begun.
Customers are responsible for reviewing and approving their project specifications before work begins.
3.2 Completed Custom Work
Completed custom work is accepted as completed in accordance with the customer's approved specifications, subject to any applicable written Raid Research LLC warranty and legal rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
Reasonable variations associated with custom finishing or manufacturing processes do not automatically constitute defective workmanship.
Such variations may result from:
- Surface condition;
- Existing firearm finish;
- Existing wear;
- Underlying materials;
- Manufacturing tolerances;
- Previous modifications;
- Lighting;
- Photography;
- Digital color representation; or
- The nature of hand-finished or custom processes.
3.3 Workmanship or Order Errors
The final-sale policy does not prevent a customer from contacting Raid Research LLC regarding a legitimate concern that Raid Research LLC:
- Performed work materially different from the approved order;
- Shipped the incorrect customer property;
- Omitted an item;
- Made an identifiable workmanship error; or
- Delivered a product or service subject to an applicable Raid Research LLC warranty.
Customers should promptly notify Raid Research LLC of such concerns.
Raid Research LLC must be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, correct the alleged issue before the customer has another person or company alter, repair, refinish, or modify the affected work.
A legitimate workmanship concern is different from a return based on preference or a change of mind.
3.4 Unauthorized Returns
Customers may not return customer property, completed custom work, or products to Raid Research LLC without first contacting Raid Research LLC and receiving authorization.
Unauthorized returns may be refused.
Customers should contact Steve@RaidResearch.com before sending property back to Raid Research LLC.
4. Cancellation Policy
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to Steve@RaidResearch.com.
A cancellation request is not effective until Raid Research LLC acknowledges and accepts the cancellation.
4.1 Cancellation Before Work Begins
If Raid Research LLC approves a cancellation before custom work or production has begun, the cancellation will be subject to a minimum cancellation fee equal to 20% of the order total, plus all applicable nonrecoverable costs.
Applicable nonrecoverable costs may include, but are not limited to:
- Special-order materials;
- Special-order parts;
- Administrative costs directly associated with the project;
- Work already performed;
- Shipping expenses;
- Handling expenses;
- Transfer-related expenses; or
- Other project-specific expenses already incurred by Raid Research LLC.
The 20% cancellation fee is a minimum charge.
If Raid Research LLC has incurred additional nonrecoverable costs associated with the order, those costs will be added to the cancellation fee.
Any remaining eligible refund will be calculated only after the minimum cancellation fee and all applicable nonrecoverable costs have been deducted.
Nothing in this section limits any cancellation or refund rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
4.2 Cancellation After Work Begins
Once custom production, preparation, gunsmithing, machining, coating preparation, engraving, refinishing, modification, or other custom work has begun:
The order may no longer be cancelled or refunded except at Raid Research LLC's discretion or where required by law.
Customer property will be returned when the project is completed or when otherwise agreed to by Raid Research LLC.
5. Order Accuracy
Customers are responsible for reviewing their order before submitting it.
Customers should verify:
- Contact information;
- Shipping information;
- Firearm or component information;
- Requested services;
- Colors;
- Patterns;
- Engraving text;
- Spelling;
- Artwork;
- Graphics;
- Parts;
- Quantities;
- Configurations; and
- Special instructions.
Raid Research LLC will perform work based on the customer's submitted order and subsequent written instructions that Raid Research LLC accepts.
Errors resulting from inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading customer information are the customer's responsibility.
Corrections may result in additional charges and may not always be possible once work has begun.
6. Order Changes
Customers should finalize project details before submitting an order.
Requests to change an existing order are subject to Raid Research LLC approval.
Approved order changes are subject to a minimum $50 change fee.
The $50 amount is a minimum fee.
Additional costs may apply for:
- Labor;
- Materials;
- Special-order parts;
- Revised artwork;
- New colors or coatings;
- Additional setup;
- Disassembly or reassembly;
- Machining;
- Administrative work;
- Shipping; or
- Other expenses caused by the requested change.
Submitting a change request does not guarantee that Raid Research LLC can accommodate the requested change.
6.1 Final Change Opportunity and Project Lock
Once an order has been submitted, Raid Research LLC will contact the customer when the project is approaching or entering active production.
This is the customer's final opportunity to confirm project details and request permitted final changes.
Once Raid Research LLC begins work on the project, the project specifications become locked.
After a project is locked:
- Raid Research LLC is not required to accept additional changes;
- Customers should not attempt to continuously modify the project;
- Previously approved specifications remain controlling;
- Changes may no longer be technically possible; and
- Any change Raid Research LLC voluntarily agrees to may result in additional charges and delays.
7. Project Turnaround and Completion Times
All turnaround times, production schedules, completion dates, shipping dates, and delivery dates provided by Raid Research LLC are estimates only unless Raid Research LLC expressly guarantees a specific date in writing.
Estimated completion times are not guaranteed.
Project timelines may be affected by:
- Current workload;
- Project complexity;
- Customer-requested changes;
- Availability of materials;
- Availability of parts;
- Supplier delays;
- Equipment maintenance or failure;
- Coating or curing requirements;
- Discovery of pre-existing damage;
- Customer response times;
- Shipping delays;
- Regulatory requirements;
- Power interruptions;
- Severe weather;
- Events outside Raid Research LLC's reasonable control; or
- Other production circumstances.
A project exceeding an estimated completion date does not automatically create a right to cancellation or refund.
Customer-requested changes may extend the project's estimated turnaround time.
8. Shipping, Insurance, Return Address, and Risk of Loss
Customers are responsible for complying with applicable laws and requirements governing the shipment, transfer, possession, and receipt of firearms, firearm components, regulated items, and customer property.
Raid Research LLC does not require customers to use any specific shipping provider unless separately instructed for a particular transaction.
8.1 Property Being Shipped to Raid Research LLC
When customers ship firearms, firearm components, optics, accessories, or other property to Raid Research LLC, customers are responsible for:
- Properly packaging the shipment;
- Providing accurate shipping information;
- Using a legally permitted shipping method;
- Complying with applicable firearm-shipping requirements;
- Obtaining tracking information;
- Accurately identifying the contents where required;
- Clearly placing a complete and accurate return address on the exterior of the package being shipped to Raid Research LLC; and
- Obtaining appropriate insurance if the customer wishes to protect against transit loss, theft, or damage.
Raid Research LLC strongly recommends insuring customer property for its full replacement value.
Risk associated with an incoming shipment remains with the customer until Raid Research LLC receives and accepts the property.
Raid Research LLC is not responsible for loss, theft, damage, misdelivery, or other transit-related events occurring before Raid Research LLC receives the property.
8.2 Return Address Required on Incoming Packages
All customer property shipped to Raid Research LLC must arrive in a package displaying a complete and accurate return address on the exterior of the package.
The return address must identify the location to which the customer's property may be returned, subject to applicable legal, shipping, and transfer requirements.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that the return address shown on the package is:
- Complete;
- Accurate;
- Current;
- Legible;
- Suitable for return shipment; and
- Legally eligible to receive the applicable property where required by law.
A return address provided only by email, order notes, or other communication does not replace the requirement that a return address appear on the package itself.
If a package arrives without a return address, or with an incomplete, illegible, inaccurate, outdated, or otherwise unusable return address, Raid Research LLC may delay processing or return shipment until the customer provides and verifies the required information.
Any delay caused by a missing, incomplete, inaccurate, illegible, outdated, or legally unusable return address is not considered a delay caused by Raid Research LLC.
The customer may be responsible for additional shipping, handling, storage, transfer, or other costs resulting from failure to provide a proper return address on the incoming package.
8.3 Property Shipped by Raid Research LLC
When Raid Research LLC ships completed customer property or products, Raid Research LLC's responsibility for transit ends when the properly addressed shipment is transferred to the shipping carrier, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Risk of loss during transit passes to the customer when Raid Research LLC transfers the shipment to the carrier.
Once accepted by the carrier, transportation is subject to the carrier's applicable terms, procedures, limitations, and delivery process.
Raid Research LLC is not a shipping carrier and cannot guarantee carrier performance.
8.4 Shipping Insurance
Customers may be given the opportunity to purchase shipping insurance or other available shipment protection.
Raid Research LLC strongly recommends coverage sufficient to protect the full replacement value of:
- Firearms;
- Firearm components;
- Optics;
- Accessories; and
- Other valuable property.
If a customer elects to purchase insurance or shipment protection, any claim remains subject to the terms, limitations, documentation requirements, and claims process applicable to that coverage.
Raid Research LLC does not guarantee that a loss claim will be approved or paid.
8.5 Declining Shipping Insurance
If shipping insurance or shipment protection is offered and the customer declines it, the customer assumes the financial risk associated with loss or theft occurring during transit after Raid Research LLC transfers the shipment to the carrier.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Raid Research LLC will not be responsible for replacing, refunding, or reimbursing customer property lost or stolen while in transit when the customer declined available shipping protection.
Raid Research LLC may maintain a record of the customer's decision to accept or decline shipping protection.
8.6 Tracking and Delivery
Raid Research LLC may provide tracking information when available.
Customers are responsible for monitoring tracking information and making reasonable arrangements to receive their shipment.
Estimated carrier delivery dates are not guaranteed by Raid Research LLC.
Raid Research LLC is not responsible for delays caused by:
- Transportation delays;
- Weather;
- Routing problems;
- Delivery attempts;
- Carrier interruptions; or
- Other transit events outside Raid Research LLC's reasonable control.
8.7 Incorrect Shipping or Return Information
Customers are responsible for providing accurate and complete shipping and return-address information.
Raid Research LLC is not responsible for loss, delay, rerouting, or additional costs caused by incorrect, incomplete, outdated, illegible, or otherwise unusable information supplied by the customer.
If a shipment is returned, delayed, or cannot be completed because of:
- An incorrect return address;
- An incomplete return address;
- An illegible return address;
- An outdated address;
- Failed delivery;
- Customer refusal;
- Failure to retrieve the package; or
- Another circumstance attributable to the customer,
the customer may be required to pay additional shipping, insurance, handling, storage, transfer, or other applicable costs before the shipment is sent again.
8.8 FFL and Regulated Transfers
Where applicable law requires a firearm or regulated item to be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee ("FFL"), the customer is responsible for identifying an appropriate receiving FFL and ensuring that Raid Research LLC receives all required information and documentation.
Raid Research LLC may delay shipment until required information has been received and verified.
A delay caused by incomplete, expired, missing, or inaccurate FFL information is not considered a delay caused by Raid Research LLC.
Raid Research LLC may refuse shipment where Raid Research LLC reasonably believes the transaction or destination does not comply with applicable law.
8.9 Customer Eligibility
The customer is responsible for determining whether they may legally possess, receive, or transfer the applicable firearm, component, configuration, or other regulated item.
Raid Research LLC is not responsible for a customer's:
- Failure to complete a required transfer;
- Failure to satisfy legal eligibility requirements;
- Failed background check;
- Failure to meet residency requirements;
- Failure to provide required documentation; or
- Inability to legally receive an item.
Additional costs caused by such circumstances may remain the customer's responsibility.
9. Customer-Supplied Property
Customers should document the condition of firearms and other property before submitting them to Raid Research LLC.
Raid Research LLC is not responsible for pre-existing:
- Scratches;
- Wear;
- Corrosion;
- Rust;
- Damage;
- Improper previous modifications;
- Previous gunsmithing;
- Manufacturing defects;
- Worn components;
- Improper tolerances;
- Previous refinishing; or
- Other conditions existing before Raid Research LLC receives the property.
If a previously undisclosed condition prevents or materially affects the requested work, Raid Research LLC may contact the customer regarding additional work, additional charges, revised project scope, or termination of the affected service.
Raid Research LLC may refuse to perform work on property it reasonably determines is unsafe, improperly modified, unlawfully configured, or unsuitable for the requested service.
10. Active Project Communication Policy
Raid Research LLC wants to provide customers with accurate information while allowing staff to remain focused on completing active projects.
Before an order is placed, customers may contact Raid Research LLC through its available public communication channels for general product information, service questions, or initial order assistance.
Once an order has been placed, all order-specific and project-specific communication should be conducted through Raid Research LLC's official project email:
Steve@RaidResearch.com
Customers should use email as the primary communication channel for active projects.
This allows Raid Research LLC to:
- Keep project instructions in one location;
- Maintain an accurate written record;
- Avoid conflicting instructions;
- Reduce interruptions to active production; and
- Provide more consistent customer service.
Customers should include their name and order number when contacting Raid Research LLC regarding an active project whenever possible.
11. Social Media Communication
Social media may be used for general product questions or initial order assistance before an order is placed.
Once an order is active, customers should not use social-media direct messages, social-media comments, multiple social accounts, or multiple communication platforms to request project updates or submit order changes.
Active-project communication should instead be sent to Steve@RaidResearch.com.
Instructions submitted through unofficial channels may not be considered valid project instructions unless Raid Research LLC expressly acknowledges them.
12. Telephone Contact
Routine project questions, order changes, status requests, and other non-emergency matters should be submitted through email.
Email may be sent at any time.
Telephone contact concerning an active project should be reserved for genuinely urgent matters and should take place during Raid Research LLC's published business hours.
Repeated calls regarding routine status updates can disrupt production and may delay active projects.
13. Project Updates and Progress Photographs
Raid Research LLC will contact the customer when information, approval, clarification, or customer action is reasonably required.
Raid Research LLC is not required to provide continuous project updates.
Once project specifications have been approved and work has begun, customers should not attempt to supervise or continuously direct the day-to-day production process.
Progress Photographs
Raid Research LLC does not guarantee photographs or videos of work while the project is in progress.
Customers should not request ongoing or repeated photographs of incomplete work.
Raid Research LLC may decline requests for in-progress photographs.
When appropriate, photographs of the finished project may be provided upon completion.
The absence of in-progress photographs or frequent status updates does not indicate that work has not been performed.
14. Excessive, Abusive, or Disruptive Communication
Raid Research LLC reserves the right to protect its staff, operations, and customers from threatening, abusive, harassing, or excessively disruptive behavior.
Prohibited conduct may include:
- Threats;
- Harassment;
- Personal attacks;
- Repeated abusive communications;
- Excessive telephone calls within a short period;
- Excessive emails or messages within a short period;
- Repeatedly contacting multiple Raid Research LLC personnel about the same matter;
- Continuing to contact Raid Research LLC through social media after being directed to use official email;
- Repeated attempts to change a project after it has been locked;
- Repeated demands for progress photographs after being advised they will not be provided;
- Repeated attempts to micromanage active production; or
- Other conduct that materially interferes with Raid Research LLC's ability to perform its work.
Raid Research LLC may instruct a customer to reduce or limit communications.
When reasonably practical, Raid Research LLC may provide a warning before terminating service.
Threatening, fraudulent, abusive, or seriously disruptive conduct may result in immediate termination of service.
Raid Research LLC may refuse future business from customers who engage in prohibited conduct.
15. Termination of Service for Customer Conduct
Raid Research LLC may terminate an active project because of harassment, threats, abusive behavior, fraud, repeated communication-policy violations, repeated interference with active production, or other materially disruptive customer conduct.
If service is terminated, Raid Research LLC may stop work and return customer property where legally permitted.
Any refund will be determined based on work already performed, stage of project completion, materials consumed, materials specially ordered, nonrecoverable costs, administrative expenses, shipping costs, and other project expenses.
When Raid Research LLC elects to provide a refund after terminating service because of prohibited customer conduct, the refund may be limited to no more than 50% of the amount paid for the affected services, unless otherwise required by law.
The customer remains responsible for applicable return shipping, insurance, transfer, or other legally required costs.
16. Official Communications and Fraud Prevention
Raid Research LLC uses designated official communication channels for customer projects.
Once an order has been placed, project-specific communication should be conducted through Steve@RaidResearch.com.
Customers should exercise caution when receiving unsolicited communications claiming to represent Raid Research LLC.
Customers should not rely upon unusual or unexpected payment instructions, refund instructions, shipping-address changes, order changes, requests for sensitive information, or other transaction instructions received through an unofficial or unverified communication channel.
Raid Research LLC will not request a customer's passwords, authentication codes, or account login credentials.
If a customer receives a suspicious communication claiming to originate from Raid Research LLC, the customer should independently contact Raid Research LLC through its official contact information before taking action.
Raid Research LLC may require additional identity or order verification before changing sensitive order information, changing shipping or return-address information, processing a refund, releasing customer property, or completing another transaction where fraud or impersonation is reasonably suspected.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Raid Research LLC is not responsible for losses caused by a customer voluntarily providing credentials, funds, or sensitive information to an unauthorized third party impersonating Raid Research LLC.
17. Payment Authorization
By submitting payment, the customer represents that:
- The customer is authorized to use the selected payment method;
- The billing information submitted is accurate;
- The customer understands the products or services being purchased;
- The customer has reviewed the applicable order details; and
- The customer agrees to these Terms, including the applicable return, refund, cancellation, change-order, and custom-work policies.
Raid Research LLC may maintain reasonable records associated with the transaction, including orders, work orders, customer-approved specifications, customer communications, shipping records, insurance selections, delivery records, and Terms acknowledgments.
18. Billing or Transaction Concerns
Customers who believe that a billing error, order error, shipping problem, or service issue has occurred should contact Raid Research LLC at Steve@RaidResearch.com so Raid Research LLC has a reasonable opportunity to investigate and address the concern.
Nothing in these Terms prevents customers from exercising any rights that cannot legally be waived.
Submitting a payment dispute does not by itself alter the terms governing custom work already performed, applicable cancellation fees, shipping costs, materials already used or ordered, or other amounts legitimately owed under the customer's order.
Raid Research LLC may preserve and provide transaction documentation where reasonably necessary to respond to a disputed transaction or protect its legal rights.
19. Color, Finish, and Appearance Variations
Customers understand that digital photographs, displays, lighting, substrate materials, surface preparation, prior finishes, manufacturing differences, and custom finishing processes can affect the appearance of colors and finishes.
A digital image or screen representation should not be considered a guarantee of exact physical color reproduction.
Reasonable variations in Cerakote, engraving, refinishing, stippling, machining, patterns, or other custom processes do not automatically constitute defective workmanship.
Raid Research LLC will make reasonable efforts to perform work according to the approved project specifications.
20. Inspection After Completion
Customers should inspect completed work promptly after receiving their property.
If a customer believes Raid Research LLC made an error, the customer should notify Raid Research LLC before another party alters, repairs, refinishes, machines, modifies, or otherwise materially changes the affected work.
Raid Research LLC should be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, when appropriate, correct a legitimate workmanship issue.
Raid Research LLC may not be responsible for problems caused or materially altered by third-party gunsmithing, customer modification, subsequent refinishing, improper installation, improper maintenance, abuse, neglect, improper cleaning, or normal wear.
21. Customer-Provided Artwork and Intellectual Property
Customers are responsible for ensuring they have the legal right to authorize use of any logo, trademark, artwork, photograph, text, pattern, graphic, design, or other intellectual property submitted to Raid Research LLC for custom work.
By submitting such material, the customer represents that they have the authority to permit Raid Research LLC to reproduce or incorporate it into the requested project.
Raid Research LLC may refuse content it reasonably believes is unlawful or infringes the rights of another party.
22. Raid Research LLC Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, Raid Research LLC owns or licenses the original content associated with its website and brand, including logos, branding, product photography, videos, graphics, product descriptions, website content, and original designs.
Use of the Raid Research LLC website does not grant customers ownership of Raid Research LLC intellectual property or permission to commercially reproduce it.
23. Refusal of Service
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Raid Research LLC may refuse, suspend, or discontinue service because of illegal or suspected illegal activity, unsafe property, false or misleading customer information, missing legally required documentation, nonpayment, fraud, threatening or abusive behavior, excessive disruptive communication, repeated violations of these Terms, technical concerns, safety concerns, or a project Raid Research LLC reasonably determines it cannot lawfully or properly perform.
If customer property is already in Raid Research LLC's possession, its return remains subject to applicable law, shipping requirements, transfer requirements, payment obligations, and these Terms.
24. Website Information and Pricing
Raid Research LLC makes reasonable efforts to provide accurate prices, product descriptions, service descriptions, images, specifications, availability, and estimated turnaround information.
Errors may occasionally occur.
Raid Research LLC reserves the right, where permitted by law, to correct typographical errors, pricing errors, inventory errors, technical errors, description errors, or other material website mistakes.
If a material error affects an order, Raid Research LLC may contact the customer to correct, modify, or cancel the affected portion of the transaction.
